It is reported from the following hosts;Petroselinum, Conium, Smyrnim, Levisticum, Foeniculum vulgare, Apium graveolens - all being part of the Apiaceae (Umbiliferae) family. It is sometimes found on Crataegus spp, (Rosacea family). The population shown in this photograph was found on cultivated celery in May 2011, and again May 2012. The species was recorded for the first time only in 2011 by Dr. David Mifsud et al. in the Bulletin of the Entomological Society of Malta.
